While available to some advertisers since May, Google has finally made its Adwords Promotion Extension available to all!

What is An Adwords Promotion Extension?

To put it simply, it’s an extension that adds another line of promotional information to your ad. It must be specific to a discount or offer (monetary or percent). Advertisers can also choose to display promo codes, occasions, dates, and/or other qualifiers.

Advertisers can further control start/stop dates, tagging options, and device preferences, giving them full control over their promotion.

Full List Of Options

Advertisers are given the following options to build out their Promotion.

Occasion: None, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Labour Day, Back To School, Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas.
Promotion Type: Monetary Discount, Percent Discount, Up to Monetary Discount, Up to Percent Discount.
Promotional Details: None, On Order Over, Promo Code

Great For CTR

Previously any discount of sales information had to be included in the Ad Headline or description taking up the majority of the character count. Now that the promotional information can be included via the extension, advertisers are free to create an enticing Ad around the promotion, which can really help boost the CTR!
